Elizabeth Marek, Ph.D., is a clinical psychologist with over 30 years of experience in supporting adults, adolescents and children. She earned her B.A. from Harvard University and her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from New York University. Dr. Marek primarily uses a psychodynamically-informed approach to treatment, and believes that the client-therapist relationship is essential for successful therapy. To that end, she uses warmth and humor to build a trusting therapeutic alliance, even with those who may initially be resistant to counseling. She takes care to tailor her approach to each individual, drawing on evidence-based systems such as CBT and DBT to provide specific tools and strategies as needed.
In addition to therapy, Dr. Marek provides comprehensive psycho-educational and neuropsychological assessments, offering guidance on learning disabilities, ADHD, executive functioning, and emotional difficulties. She also offers parent coaching to help parents support their child’s emotional development and reduce anxiety through practical strategies.
