  • I specialize in helping teens navigate the challenges of adolescence in a supportive, understanding environment. Building a strong, trusting relationship is essential, especially when working with teens who may be hesitant or resistant to counseling. I begin by meeting with parents to gain a clear understanding of the situation, then work individually with the teen, providing a safe space for self-exploration and growth. Parents are kept in the loop as needed, ensuring a collaborative approach to the teen’s journey.

  • In my work with adults, I focus on creating a strong therapeutic alliance built on trust and empathy. My goal is to help clients gain insight into their behaviors, break maladaptive patterns, and find relief from emotional distress. I primarily use a psychodynamic approach, but I also incorporate elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and other therapeutic modalities when appropriate. Through individualized sessions, I work with clients to foster personal growth and lasting change in a compassionate, nonjudgmental space.

  • My work with couples is grounded in Emotional-Focused Therapy, an evidence-based approach designed to break negative cycles of interaction and restore frayed attachment bonds in a safe, supportive environment where both partners can feel heard and understood. The overarching goal is to help partners improve communication, deepen their connection and provide tools for working through relational challenges.

  • I offer full psychoeducational and neuropsychological assessments for children and adolescents who may be struggling in school due to challenges with learning, attention and focus, executive skills, or social-emotional functioning. I understand that the assessment process can feel stressful for both parents and children, and I strive to create a warm and low-pressure environment where families feel supported, and children are set at ease. Through the evaluation process, I collect and integrate data to develop an in-depth understanding of each child. More than just a diagnosis, these evaluations provide a comprehensive profile of a child’s learning style and social-emotional functioning, highlighting strengths as well as areas for growth. My goal is to give clear, actionable recommendations for strategies, services, school placement and accommodations to help every child meet their potential.

  • With over 30 years of experience working with children and adolescents, including 18 years as a psychologist at The School at Columbia University, I bring a unique perspective to parents facing the challenges of raising a child or teen.  Whether your child is struggling with anxiety, depression, social problems, behavioral issues, or navigating difficult life transitions like divorce or loss, I offer both support and practical, effective strategies to create lasting change at home.

  • SPACE (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions) is a research-based, parent-focused treatment designed to help children and teens who struggle with anxiety, OCD, and related emotional challenges. Unlike traditional therapies that primarily focus on the child, SPACE empowers parents with tools and strategies to manage their child’s anxiety and emotional behaviors more effectively. As a trained SPACE therapist, I work with parents to understand how their reactions to their child's anxiety may unintentionally reinforce anxious behaviors. Through coaching and structured exercises, parents learn how to create a supportive environment that reduces anxiety without enabling avoidance or unhelpful coping mechanisms. SPACE helps parents set consistent boundaries, encourage independence, and reduce the emotional burden on both the child and family.
